The winner this year was Phil Taylor who defeated Australia’s own Simon Whitlock 7 Sets to 4. Phil Taylor Walked away with a cool $380,000 Australian Dollars Whilst Whitlock as Runner up claimed $185,000 Australian dollars
*The winner of the Oceanic Masters this year to be held at the Illawarra Yacht club In Wollongong NSW will receive first round entry into the world darts Championship along with $2000 Cash and a return airfare to London to compete in the world championships. They will also receive a guaranteed $12,000 in prize money should they not progress to the first round , a total prize worth in excess of $17,000.
The Australian darts team will also be in action Friday evening 13th August spearheaded and captained by the one and only Simon Whitlock. He will be joined by Australia’s other top 3 players including Rob Modra of South Australia , Shane Tichowitsch of QLD and Craig Prizeman from the Central Coast of NSW. They will meet the top 4 New Zealanders in the annual test match which was last year won by Australia in a tight match 11-10.The match will begin at 7pm Spectators welcome.
In Simons first event in Australia since February he will be out to win the crown he first won back in 2002.Other previous winners also competing are 2 x winners and Wollongong Local Barry Jouannet and New Zealander Warren Parry along with Mitch ' The Moosta' Clegg who will represent Australia at the upcoming world under 21 darts championships in the UK in November.
