Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson were among four players to reach the quarter-finals of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in Coventry on Thursday.

The pair of World Champions won in straight sets against Devon Petersen and Danny Noppert respectively, while Simon Whitlock and Dirk van Duijvenbode also made it through to the last eight as the second round began at the Ricoh Arena.

DartPlayers Australia unveil 2021 ProTour plans

The DPA's 2020 ProTour season ended following 14 events, with Order of Merit leader Gordon Mathers progressing to qualify for the 2020/2021 William Hill World Darts Championship.

With regulations still in place across Australia, the DPA are planning to stage their 2021 ProTour across seven regional "Bubbles", which will each host five double-header weekends for players in their home State.

Oceanic darts is mourning the passing of New Zealand's Stuart Leach, who passed away on Tuesday night following a battle with cancer.

Leach competed on the PDC's big stage at the 2016 Auckland Darts Masters, losing out to eventual champion Adrian Lewis in the first round of the World Series of Darts event.
