Clayton odds-on with BoyleSports to reach World Grand Prix last eight

admin 07/10/2021

Jonny Clayton is fancied to get the better of Jose de Sousa on the fourth night of darts action at the Morningside Arena in Leicester as he seeks to progress to the quarter-finals of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix.

Clayton’s odds have already been clipped into 8/11 from Even Money to make the last eight, while the 2020 BoyleSports Grand Slam champion De Sousa is 11/10.

Ian White is a red-hot favourite at 4/7 to beat Darius Labanauskas following a 2-1 win over Gary Anderson on Monday night.

Danny Noppert beat Michael van Gerwen in impressive fashion 2-0 so it’s no surprise to see that he is the 4/6 favourite against Vincent van der Voort, who is available at 6/5.

Rob Cross will have to pull it out of the bag if the betting is anything to go by as he is 11/10 to progress to the next round against Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski, who is 8/11.

It’s also a 10/1 shot that the crowd are treated to a nine-darter on the fourth night while another 170 checkout is 3/1.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “Ian White might have been an underdog against Gary Anderson but that’s certainly not the case on Wednesday, when he is 4/7 to beat Darius Labanauskas.

“We have seen early support for Jonny Clayton in the outright and also to win his match, with his odds clipped into 8/11 from Evens for him to get the better of Jose de Sousa.

“Rob Cross has his work cut out at 11/10 while Danny Noppert is 4/6 favourite to beat Vincent van der Voort. A cracking night lies ahead.”
